A woman found herself at the gates of Heaven, where St. Peter welcomed her and said,
“You’re almost in, but there’s one last thing you need to do.”
Excited, the woman asked what it was.
“You just need to spell any four-letter word,” St. Peter replied
She smiled and said, “Alright—I’ll spell ‘love.’ L-O-V-E.”
“Perfect,” said St. Peter. “You clearly have a pure heart.” Then he invited her in and asked if she’d watch the gate for a few minutes while he stepped away.
She agreed and took his seat. A short while later, a man approached—and to her shock, it was her husband.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
“I was so heartbroken after your funeral,” he said. “On the way home, I got into an accident. Am I really at the gates of Heaven?”
“Not quite yet,” she replied. “First, you need to spell a word.”
